...... Everyone tells you how hard life it, no one tells you hard it is to want to live.... I learned that when I was 8, as the person I saw crumpled to dust. Her smiled faded, her laughter hollow. Eyes void of happiness for so long. Life was cruel and unfair, it took the person I needed most, how do you save someone when you don't understand? How do you lend a helping hand... How do you change there mind... How do you change there mind that the world isn't completey crul...... When it's not true...... I watched as you fell down that pit, I kept telling myself I could help you quit. But how to you help someone when they don't give a shit. How do you help someone who has already quit. We ran through the city like ghosts in the machine, hologram legends, midnight machines, eyes full of static, hearts full of gun smoke, the last true arcade kids the world ever broke. We lived through the glitch, like a beam in the night, for rooftops that shimmered like screens full of light, for neon-lit highways with no exit signs, where forever felt real, and the world felt like mine. Laughter broke here once, sharp as a spark, soft as the hum of a console in the dark, it lingers like echoes inside the arcade, credits still rolling on the games where we got played. But pixels burn out, and maps disappear, the high score resets at the end of the year, and all that remains when the console shuts down is the echoes of our laughter still spinning around.
