ستارے مجھ سے یہ کہتے ہیں یار کوئی نہیں خزاں کے بعد خزاں ہے بہار کوئی نہیں کوئی بدن بھی اکیلا نہیں اکیلے میں یہ ناؤ چلتی ہے چاہے سوار کوئی نہیں مجاہدوں کو بلاتا ہوں زندگی کی طرف سوائے اس کے مرا کاروبار کوئی نہیں گھٹن کی دھوپ میں رکھی ہوئی بدن کی برف شجر بڑے ہیں مگر سایہ دار کوئی نہیں خدا،فرشتے ،زمان و مکان میرے ہیں میں آدمی ہوں مرا غم گسار کوئی نہیں مسافروں نے سرائے سے جو بھی لے لیا ہے ہزار نشہ ہو لیکن خمار کوئی نہیں نہال کر دوں گا کوئی اداس عورت ہو ہنر تو جانتا ہوں، روزگار کوئی نہیں یہ زندگی بھی مسافر کی موت جیسی ہے مرے پڑے ہیں مگر سوگوار کوئی نہیں وہ ملتی ہے پہ میسر کبھی نہیں ہوتی پہاڑ کرلیے سر آبشار کوئی نہیں ترس رہا ہوں جہاں سانس بھر مہک کے لیے گلاب اتنے ہیں جن کا شمار کوئی نہیں

غَنَّاهُ الأَمْسُ وأَطْرَبَهُ وشَجَاهُ اليَومَ فَما غَدُهُ قَد كانَ لَهُ قلبٌ كالطِّفْلِ يدُ الأَحلامِ تُهَدِّيهِ مُذ كانَ لَهُ مَلَكٌ في الكونِ جَميلُ الطَّلعَةِ يَعْبُدُهُ في جوفِ اللَّيلِ يُناجيهِ وأمامَ الفَجْرِ يُمَجِّدُهُ وعلى الهَضَباتِ يُغَنِّيهِ آياتُ الحُبِّ ويُنْشِدُهُ لولاهُ لما عَذُبَتْ في الكونِ مَصَادِرُهُ ومَوارِدُهُ ولما فاضَتْ بالشِّعْرِ الحيِّ مَشاعيرَهُ وقَصائدُهُ تَمشي في الغابةِ فتَتَّبِعهُ أَفراحُ الحُبِّ وتَنْشُدُهُ ويرى الآفاقَ فيُبْصِرُها زُمُرًا في النُّورِ تُرَاصِدُهُ ويرى الأَطْيارَ فيَحْسَبُها أَحلامَ الحُبِّ تُغَرِّدُهُ ويرى الأَزهارَ فيَحْسَبُها بَسَماتُ الحُبِّ تُوارِدُهُ فَيَخَالُ الكونَ يُناجيهِ وجَمالُ العالَمِ يُسعِدُهُ ونُجومُ اللَّيلِ تُضاحِكُهُ ونَسيمُ الغابةِ يُطَارِدُهُ ويَخالُ الوَرْدَ يداعِبُهُ فرحًا فتعابِثُهُ يَدُهُ ويرى اليُنْبوعَ ونَظرتَهُ ونَسيمُ الصُّبْحِ يُجَعِّدُهُ وخريرُ الماءِ لَهُ نَغَمٌ نَسَماتُ الغابةِ تُرَدِّدُهُ ويرى الأَعشابَ وقَد سَمَقتْ بَيْنَ الأَشجارِ تُشاهِدُهُ ونِطاقُ الطِّفلِ تُنَمِّقُها فَيَجُلُّ الحُبَّ ويَحمدُهُ يا للأَيَّامِ! فَكَم سَرَّتْ قَلبًا في النَّاسِ لتُكْمِدُهُ هِيَ مِثْلُ العاهِرِ عاشِقُها تَسقِيهِ الخَمْرَ وتَطْرُدُهُ يُعْطيكَ اليَومُ حلاوتَها كَالشَّهْدِ ليَسْلُبَها غَدُهُ بالأَمْسِ يُعانِقُها فَرَحًا ويضاجِعُها فَتُوسِّدُهُ واليَومَ يُسايرُها شَبَحًا أَضناهُ الحُزنُ ونَكَّدَهُ يَتلو في الغابةِ مَراثِيهِ وجُذُوعُ السَّرْوِ تُسانِدُهُ ويُماشي النَّاسَ وما أَحَدٌ مِنْهُم يَشْجِيهِ تَفَرُّدُهُ في ليلِ الوَحْشَةِ مَسْراهُ وبِكَهوفِ الوَحْدَةِ مَرْقَدُهُ أَصواتُ الأَمْسِ تُعَذِّبُهُ وخَيالُ الموتِ يُهَدِّدُهُ بالأَمْسِ لَهُ شَفَقٌ في الكونِ يُضيءُ الأُفُقَ تُورِّدُهُ واليَومَ لَقَد غَشَّاهُ اللَّيلُ فَما في العالمِ يُسعِدُهُ غَنَّاهُ الأَمْسُ وأَطْرَبَهُ وشَجَاهُ اليَومَ فَما غَدُهُ
