It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Everywhere I go. But this year it’s kind of strange, in my camo greens for a change, Marching down these barracks all aglow. I just turned twenty too, with boot camp in my rear view, And I’m heading to MP School, learning something new. Though I won’t be home this year, I’m holding on tight To the pride of a Marine in sight. It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas, Humming carols in my head, With my squad as family here, bringing holiday cheer, As the Drill Instructor calls out, “Lights out!” instead.
